Section Three:

Prince's Dock

The third length of the canal link is from the northern end of Prince's Dock through to the start of the Pier Head area.

The new works required for this section comprised of four elements:

  • A new fixed bridge and lock at Prince's Dock.
  • Adaptation and raising of Prince's Dock Footbridge including re-landscaping of the bridge approaches.
  • A new canal tunnel across land known as Plot 7 (to the rear of the Crowne Plaza Hotel), continuing beneath St. Nicholas Place and the new Cruise Liner Facility access road through to just north of the Liver Building.
