Section One:

Leeds & Liverpool Canal to Trafalgar Dock

The first length of the canal link is between the current terminus of the Leeds & Liverpool Canal (at the top of Stanley Lock Flight) and the in-filled section of Trafalgar Dock. The whole of this section is located within the Stanley Dock Conservation Area and passes through the new residential area of the Eldonian Village.

This section was already in water and navigable following dredging in the 1990s. The only works required for this section was a fixed control structure between Bramley Moore Dock and Nelson Dock.
