Corporate Structure

Management of British Waterways' network is delivered through nine Waterway Units, each one headed by a locally-based General Manager or director in the case of London and Scotland. For contact details, click here.

Other central departments such as the Customer Service Centre, Marketing & Communications and Legal are based at our Head Office, which is also the base for the Chief Executive and Executive Directors.

The final tier of the organisation is the Board, comprising the Chairman, Vice Chairman and Non-Executive Directors, who are appointed by the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, and (in the case of two Board Members) by Scottish Ministers.
